Project Reveal: The Sage Green Sanctuary

It's time to reveal this project! For this Longmont, Colorado remodel, the homeowners had a very simple goal: they wanted a space that felt comfortable and inviting. This bathroom brings warmth, texture, and functionality. The shower is custom designed with a corner shelf and a niche.

We paired the earthy green fluted tile with marble stone toppings to keep things feeling bright and elevated while maintaining that soft, welcoming atmosphere. The penny tile on the floor of the shower and inside of the niche adds texture for security while standing on a wet shower floor, and brings in more earthy tones.

Our clients chose a Pottery Barn double sink vanity to bring storage, warmth and natural texture into the space.

We tied it all together with a polished chrome Kohler shower package, featuring a waterfall head and handheld wand, and chrome fixtures and hardware throughout. We used chrome grab bars to turn the necessary hardware into an intentional element of the design.

We installed a radiant heated floor system under the main floor tile for added comfort on chilly mornings.

The custom glass door is from Meier All County Glass , our most trusted local glass supplier. Our clients told us that when they saw the finished bathroom with the glass installed, it “sealed the deal” for them.

I hope to do more projects with a similar design vibe in the future, something about this tile is just good for the soul.

The only thing that is standard with #SBSbathrooms is in its infrastructure, dedication, and expectations. If an idea is complicated it’s custom and pursed. This project was designed to overcome existing structural problems, and maximized space. Angles are the number one fear factor on how to bring everything together. I designed this shower on the fly based on an idea to include superior waterproofing infastructure, individual soap, shampoo niches, valve and wand systems, dual complicated benches, bathroom flow, and eye appeal. There are contractors that will build this but not at SBS prices. This shower with all its angles and continuity has a lifetime warranty.

Hiring The Right Contractor in Colorado

There has been a flood of unlicensed contractors and Colorado is not a lone state with this problem. Most homeowners are victimized by scams, unlicensed, unqualified, or giant corporations with high costs for lowest renovations. I run into this frequently where a homeowner has been left with a bad job, or been ripped off by their contractor. Ive had customers that have given large deposits to contractor to seeing the contractor vanish. Don’t be the victim.

Every one makes mistakes but its those that come back to take care of it, are the contractors worth hiring. I suggest to anyone looking for a contractor for any type of project to select a contractor that has something to loose. If they do not have anything to loose there are no actions to hold Accountability. Being left with a bad job will cost more in the long run than hiring someone to do the job right. Many large companies like the big box stores all hire out sub-contractors that get paid minimal and do not care in the end of the final product.

I can’t tell you that I am never going to make mistakes or a project however I can give you every customer that can vouch for my reputation and business practices instead of telling a customer that no punch lists will be left undone. Some customers are extremely hard to please and some just do not want to be satisfied, however I have gone beyond normal efforts to reach satisfaction. No job is flawless, but being in the midst to do it again if needed.

When it comes to Kitchens and baths with SBS my guarantees and warranties are above standards. Current shower warranties are minimum 5 years and after the unit has been built and I am confident of its structure SBS warranty can be for as long as you own the home. No one is offering this anywhere! SBS also is implementing an annual cleaning and checkup of your showers to maintain and keep an eye on things for you.

Homeowner Material Selections and Responsibility

SBS Kitchens and Baths will handle logistics, infrastructure, and labor. The customer needs to choose the amenities such as: faucets, tile, grout, paint, trim colors, tub, cabinets, mirrors, lighting and project details. Everything else will be the responsibility of SBS unless you choose a designer package where we ask details and design your project from the ground up. I will put a checklist together for each customer with materials and quantities. Once everything is on site or ready for pick up the project will begin.

Prior to commencement of your project all personal items, clothing, etc will be required to be removed from the work area. Furniture that is in the work area will be covered during the project and cleaned after or on departure. SBS is not responsible for personal items. Things do get messy and dusty, it is a common thing to deal with.
